Two of Five: Man’s Problem
It was only one bite. Why all the fuss? I’ll tell you why all the fuss? Disobedience. In the beginning, God created man and woman in His image as spirits [Genesis 1:27; John 4:24], therefore man and woman were holy and perfect. Then Genesis 3:6, when Adam and Eve only took that one bite. Through inheritance, Adam blew it for all of mankind.
It was definite, man had a sin problem. The Bible says that mankind’s heart is corrupt and desperately wicked [Jeremiah 17:9]. Adam and Eve are the only two people of all of mankind who know what it is like to be holy and righteous (at least for a while). Being at peace with God is not automatic because we are all, by nature, separated from God because of sin.
v23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. [Romans 3:23 KJV]
The Bible is replete with the many sins of mankind: pride, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, sloth, wrath, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, strife, seditions, heresies, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, murders, drunkenness, revellings, bitterness, anger, clamor, and evil speaking, malice, blasphemies, guile, hypocrisies, and so much more [Proverbs 6:16-19; Galatians 5: 18-21; Ephesians 4:31; Colossians 3:8; Titus 3:3; 1 Peter 2:1, and many more. Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; Romans 7:21-25].
We should not get caught in ranking these sins one above or below another. To God, it makes no difference as James 2:8-11 declares.
v10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
v11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law [James 2:10, 11 KJV]
Thank you, Lord, that because of Adam’s sin, there was a need for Jesus to come, for without Adam’s disobedience, there would be no need for Jesus. I personally don’t know where I’d be without my Lord and Savior and soon coming husband. Thank you, Lord, for your faultless plan of redemption and justification through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you Lord that your plan is much stronger than man’s problem(s). In your precious name, Amen.
God sent Jesus to bridge the gap
