1. God’s Plan
God loves you and wants you to experience His love and peace.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [John 3:16 KJV]
2. Man’s problem
Being at peace with God is not automatic, because we, by nature, are separated from God. Separated by the sin nature inherent in all men.
v23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. [Romans 3:23 KJV]
3. God’s Remedy
God’s love bridges the gap of separation between us and God. When Jesus Christ died on the Cross and rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for our sins.
v24 He Himself bore our sins, in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.
v25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. [1 Peter 2:24, 25 NIV]
4. Man’s Response
We cross the bridge into God’s family when we receive Christ by personal invitation.
v12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…[John 1:12 KJV]
5. The Gospel of Jesus Christ
The invitation: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord… [Acts 3:19 KJV].
v1 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it.
v2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.
v3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.
v4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.
[1 Corinthians 15:1-4 NLT]
