Part One: Why did God wait 4000 years?

In Genesis one and two, God created man and woman and gave them dominion. In Genesis three, Adam disobeyed God and separated not only himself and Eve from God, but through inheritance, every human-being after him. The separation of mankind from its Creator was not in God’s plans. Adam always had the ability to choose but hadn’t exercised that capacity until he was at the foot of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Adam, no doubt, made decisions, probably between good and good. These would have only been preferences. If important, the Bible would have recorded them. Therefore, God created the tree of good and evil for his decision between the opposites. When Adam sinned, why didn’t God give Adam and Eve a second chance and forgive them right then? Long story short, He did give them a second chance because He kicked them out of the Garden while they were very much alive. Remember, that the wages of sin is death [1]. Also remember that the Law had not yet been given.

v12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
v13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. [Romans 5:12-13 KJV]

Therefore, for mankind to get back into God’s grace again, he needed redemption. God gave the Law in Exodus 20:1-17, the second book of the Bible, which begs the question, why did God the Father wait 4000 years to send His Son Jesus to redeem mankind, and give him back his dominion?

This one question brought a few other questions to light. Like, why didn’t He just give man’s authority, control, and dominion back right then? Why didn’t He send Christ to Earth many years earlier and relieve some of the suffering of mankind, all because of Adam’s disobedience? Why does man have to suffer and pay for another man’s sin? Why did Christ have to die an excruciating death on the Cross to save mankind. Let’s look at these questions together and see if we can answer them. Your comments are welcome.

Words are Creative and Powerful. God created man with His spoken words in the Garden of Eden and in His image [2]. Because of free will, God couldn’t intervene with His spoken and creative words by sending Christ to redeem man, because He gave man dominion. Therefore, Christ had to come to Earth as a flesh and blood man. God’s Word forbids Him to interfere in man’s affairs.

v34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. [Psalms 89:34 KJV]
v2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. [Psalms 138:2 KJV]

Verse 34 tells us that God will not go back on His word, and verse 2 says that He places His covenant above His name. God had to abide with what He told Adam, “. . .Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion. . . [Genesis 1:28 KJV]”

However, this doesn’t completely answer our question. How did God the Father send Jesus to save and redeem mankind without intervening in man’s affairs and his free will? We’ll find out in a couple weeks
