I was going through a stack of old papers making sure I wasn’t throwing something important away when I ran across an email from a bank that advocated a bill-pay plan that would save the customer some time. In this day of a failing economy, their theory was that the less time we spent on paying bills, the more time we had for family. Their lead was “Spend more time on what matters.”
All truth is parallel so this statement hit me right between the eyes. It sounded like a great idea and although their idea leaned toward the financial end of the spectrum, I see the world in utter chaos financially, politically, socially, and spiritually. The social media is abuzz with political images and comments decrying the political corruption and the oppression of people.
Don’t get me wrong, politics are very important but there just doesn’t seem to be any actions taking place to thwart the problems that enslave us and all we do is glorify the enemy’s plan and speak his evil into the atmosphere. Therefore, I felt that I wanted to write a small piece on what glorifies Christ instead of the enemy.
So…what does matter?
We all have to balance our lives of course but each of us needs to figure out what is personally important to us and spend time in that arena. If that means politics to some, that’s OK, it’s your time and what is important to you. What is important to me is, it is a time to stop glorifying Satan’s plan and start focusing on Jesus Christ. It is time to start bringing as many sheep into the fold as we can. It is time to be listening for the Shofar. It is about to blow. Christ is coming to abduct His Bride. The only hope for America and the world is to return to faith in Christ. America was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is what is important to me.
God’s Word seems to think so as well. The Bible is ALL about Jesus. It is about Jesus and His Bride. He paid the bride price in full by purchasing her on the Cross.
Colossians 3:1-4 KJV
v1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
v2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
v3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
v4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Hi Jim. I’m lined up with you on this one. All that really matters in my life is my relationship with God in Christ. I wish his peace and love and guidance for every living soul.
