Staying on Course is a process. I’ve been in that process for 68 years. Well Lord, maybe this year, I’ll graduate from the School of Spiritual Victory. I’ve heard say, it is called the School of Hard Knocks. They told us that that’s how we grew and how we learned, by experiencing the battle ourselves. My question is? When do we win? Hasn’t Christ won our battles on the Cross [1]. If I’ve learned anything in the 68 of 76 years, it is this, the enemy is relentless and persistent. We should be the same. It’s time that the Christian put away their passive persona and as James tells us, start resisting the Devil so he’ll flee [2]. Really resisting! Remember, what we tolerate, we’ll get. Sometimes, I can just about hear Doris Day in the background singing “Que Sera Sera.”

Something else I’ve learned; how do you have victory without war? How do you have war without a battle? How do you have a battle without an enemy? Granted, Christ won our battles on the Cross, but we need to stop being “Passive Aggressive,” and join in on the fight. The problem is this, we can only have hope of victory with Christ as our General, leading the way.

Christ won the battles alright, but because of free will [3], we must first accept His victory He won on the Cross [4]. We accept His victory through our own salvation [5]. Only then, can we have, and maintain victory through Him that redeemed us [6]. We are bought with a price [7]. In the Jewish language, it’s called the Mohar, and was mandatory by law. There needs to be a hunger for Christ [8]. Thirsty for a relationship and fellowship with Him especially in these days [9].

v5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
v6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [Proverbs 3:5, 6 KJV]

Revelation 3:16 talks about God’s response to passivity and complacency. Therefore, lets move over to the James 4:7 camp and submit ourselves, then, to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from us. Hallelujah and AMEN.

Thank you, Lord, that I do not have to lean to my own understanding and if I acknowledge you in all my ways, you will direct my path. You are a lamp unto my feet. I submit therefore to you and will do my best to resist the enemy. Forgive me Lord when I fail. With you, I have spiritual victory. O grave, where is thy victory? Thank you Lord, for holding onto me and not letting go. In your precious name, AMEN.
