Part Eight: Give us this day our daily bread
God is not only interested in His name and kingdom, but he is interested in us. Christ taught in Matthew 6:11 for us to ask for the daily essentials of life as Christians. However, there are some necessary requirements in appropriating God’s provisions. Number one, be in the will of God. Number two, believe it is God’s will to prosper you. Number three, be specific. Number four, be tenacious.
v6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. [Philippians 4:6 ESV]
I’ve heard it said that if we pray for the same thing more than once, it is a lack of faith. Nothing could be further from the truth. Remember Daniel, in the Old Testament, when the Angel came 21 days after Daniel prayed [1]? When you have prayed a petition and it is days until it’s answered. Fear not, for from the first day, your prayer was heard and answer was sent. Satan is just withstanding the angel. It might be as simple as God may have said no or it is a test of faith. Check one through three above.
I thank you, Lord, for your provision in my life. You are Jehovah-Jireh. I thank you for answering my prayers, Lord. You know the desires of my heart God, and I ask that you clear the way of all obstacles and give me a favorable outcome this week concerning my transition. I ask for help remembering Lord and for the strength of Jesus to face my dilemma. In your precious name, AMEN.
Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you [2].
